The most inspiring, innovative and – dare I say it – fun software I’ve used in ages is Phun. Written as part of a Master of Science Thesis by Swedish student Emil Ernerfeldt, Phun is a real-time 2D physics modelling engine. Sounds boring, right? Nay my friend, check it out:

Phun lets you explore physics concepts like friction, gravity and mass easily, in a totally non-geeky kinda way. OK, it’s not as sophisticated as something like 3D Studio Max or Maya but that’s not the point; a child can use this program. Indeed, that’s where I see the killer use of this application; in education. Primary school teachers take note – consider using this software to teach your kids the basic of physics!

Give Phun a go, you may enjoy using it as much as I do!
